Play as a god

  • Assume control of a kingdom either as a good or evil god, in a quest to become the most powerful god in the realm of Saga.
  • Build up a kingdom or dungeon and attract followers to fight for your cause.
  • Fight your way through an epic campaign to ride your lands of evil or let your evil rule the world and bring eternal darkness to all the realms of Saga.
  • As an evil god, build up an dungeon and wait for nightfall to invade the surface world with evil creatures.
  • As a benevolent god, build up your kingdom and lead your heroes against the forces of evil lurking in the underworld.

Control your followers

Each scenario has a unique map. Even if the player chooses the same quest twice, it will have a map that, while retaining the general terrain of the region, is significantly different. The map is shrouded, but can be temporarily lifted if a hero or non-hero character in the area.

In certain quest scenarios, the player also has the ability to interact with other kingdoms. This mainly includes the human or elven kingdom’s, although in some cases, the player may choose to attack the foreign kingdom or may switch sides between kingdoms or dungeons.

The second method of control is the hand, used to casting spells,  pick up creatures in your kingdom, carry them around, and drop them. All within in your sphere of influence. Creatures can even be slapped with the hand to make them work harder, at the cost of their stress level. If the creature has maxed out his stress level he will flee you’re dungeon and never come back, so beware of too much slapping.

Buildings

The basic building is the keep or dungeon heart, and its loss means the loss of the game. Base-building is comparable to other dungeon building games, but some buildings require the presence of certain buildings before they are available for construction. Buildings can be used to house your followers or offer equipment or services (blacksmiths, marketplace, etc.). For example a marketplace will sell potions to your heroes as a service, if they have the gold required for the potion. Which creatures or heroes enters the kingdom or dungeon depends on which rooms the player has and how large they are; most creatures will have demands for entering your service.
